PAD

|
The PAD standard is basically a set of specifications for a text file that contains all information about a software. A PAD file is an XML formatted text file.
The PAD standard is useful for shareware sites, as it is an easy way to replace submission forms and related errors; is useful for shareware developers, as with a single file they can submit their software to different shareware sites, without bothering to fill forms. The PAD specifications allow each author to store its PAD files on their own sites, so each shareware download site can poll the author’s sites and always have updated pages.
